Ingredients

For the cookies
140 g butter, ice-cold
50 g icing sugar
1 pinch salt
150 g soft flour
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon, powder
For the glaze
2 egg whites
480 g icing sugar, sifted
lemon juice, of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon(s) water
1/2 teaspoon(s) yellow food coloring paste
For the decoration
heart sprinkles
wedding candy, eyeballs

Instructions

1.For the cookies
2.Add the ingredients for the dough into a food processor or a mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, and beat them until the dough is shaped. Your cookies should be as crispy as possible, so do not beat the ingredients for long. Moreover, this is why you should use soft flour that does not contain much gluten.
3.Remove the dough from the bowl, shape it into a ball, wrap it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it for 1 hour so that it thickens and you will be able to roll it out into a sheet.
4.Remove the dough from the refrigerator.
5.Preheat the oven to 150ο C (300ο F) set to fan.
6.Spread a piece of parchment paper onto your working surface, dust it with flour, and place the dough on it.
7.Dust the dough with a little more flour and cover it with another piece of parchment paper.
8.With a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a 3 mm thick sheet, remove the parchment paper that is on top, and then with a knife, cut cookies 3x10 cm. Transfer them to a baking pan along with the bottom parchment paper piece.
9.Bake for 15 minutes.
10.If their sides are uneven, carefully scrape the cookies using a grater, so that they become smooth and have the desired shape.
11.For the glaze
12.In a mixer’s bowl beat the egg whites with the whisk attachment but before they thicken, add the sugar, the lemon juice, and keep beating until there is a thick and shiny meringue.
13.Add the water and keep beating until there is a runny glaze.
14.Add the yellow food coloring paste and beat until the glaze has a uniform color.
15.Spread the glaze over the cookies with a spoon or a small spatula, and as soon as it cools, draw the ruler with the black edible food marker.
16.Decorate with the heart sprinkles and the candy eyeballs.
