4 pork loin chops on the bone, 225 (7½ oz) each, trimmed of fat
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon plain flour
2 teaspoons wholegrain mustard
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
150 ml (4 pint) dry cider
300 ml (2 pint) chicken stock
500 g (1 lb) swede, cut into 2.5 cm (1 inch) pieces
250 g (8 oz) potatoes, cut into 2.5 cm (1 inch) piece
1 dessert apple, cored and thickly sliced
salt and pepper
200 g (7 oz) sugar snap peas. steamed, to serve
