1 kg/2 1⁄4 lb turnip tops 2 tablespoons olive oil • 2 cloves garlic
1⁄2 fresh chilli,de-seeded and chopped
100 g/3 1⁄2oz cooked ham, cut into strips 25 g/1 oz breadcrumbs.• salt


1.Cook the turnip tops in salted, boiling water for 10 minutes, then drain well, place on aserving dish and keep warm.
2.Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the garlic and cook until lightly browned, then remove and discard.
3.Add the chilli, ham and breadcrumbs to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, for a few minutes. Spoon the ham mixture over the turnip tops and serve.
