Quantities of rice and water will vary according to requirements.


1.Dark wholegrain rice takes a long time to cook. Allow 500 ml/18 fl oz water per 200 g/7 oz rice. Put the required quantity of rice and cold water in a saucepan with a little salt, bring to the boil and cook for about 30 minutes.
2. When it is tender, the rice should be dry and the water should be completely absorbed.
3.Season according to taste.
